Metrolina Nephrology Associates is the largest kidney treatment practice in the southeastern United States, with 7 locations all across the region. The organization is headquartered in Charlotte NC and is has been treating patients with kidney disease for over 40 years.

The Problem

Once MNA had developed a robust and up to date IT architecture, they soon found themselves constantly trying to manage individual systems and address computer issues on each individual client. The firm couldn't afford to jeopardize patient health by having to perform manual maintenance across their entire infrastructure. MNA needed a single console that could view and manage every system and endpoint in the company.

The Solution

After researching 20 different products MNA came across the NetX Appliance, and saw that it shipped pre-loaded with Altiris Client Management Suite, Altiris Server Management Suite, and the Altiris integration components for Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery. The price, ease of use, and functionality were all very appealing to the company, so they purchased the appliance and installed it in their server rack. With minimal over the phone instruction the NetX Appliance was running and fully functional in minutes.

The Results

MNA immediately began seeing an improvement in overall system health and functionality, with a fraction of their former efforts. Patch management and application metering allow the company to monitor all of their systems from one monitor and keep them updated, while the remote control functionality keeps them from having to drive from location to location to see what a user is seeing. MNA was also able to successfully migrate their entire infrastructure to Windows 7.
